Holy shit that one was insane. What a crazy, wonderful, intense year.

The last 12 months has been a whole heap of up and down and everything in between. Here’s a few of the numbers. With a little over a week left. These are all ‘So far’ numbers, but you get the gist.

  • 101 Official Meditation Sessions

  • 7 New countries visited (Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Japan)

  • 79 Books Read or Listened to (Click here for the list)

  • 93* Stream of Consciousness Journal Entries (*the streak continues)

  • 58 Podcasts recorded

  • 1 Poorly grown, overly fluffy beard

  • I’ve been interviewed on 2 podcasts

  • 4 Interstate trips (Sydney x 2 , Tasmania, Byron)

  • 12 Games of Football

  • 176 beers (mostly courtesy of Jetty Road Brewery)

  • 1 New business venture

  • 1 New Website

  • 50+ Journal Articles

  • Countless new friends, and a million worthwhile moments and experiences.

I’ve learnt a lot. I’ve fucked up more than I’d like to admit, but I wouldn’t change a thing… why? Because each mistake, each challenge, each failure and each victory have brought me to this point. Putting this together. Reflecting on a wonderful year.

Regardless of all of the above, I’m only human, I’m doing my best. Sometimes things work out and sometimes they don’t. Pain and suffering are important parts of life. Embrace them, they are always the biggest areas of growth.

Over the past 12 months I feel I’ve learnt how to slow down, the importance of reflection and how powerful a single breath can be. I’ve had so many conversations and consumed so much information that I continue to realise how little I know. I’ll never have the answers, and thats ok. I know that if I’m one step ahead of you in certain areas that I can add value to your life. Just like you can add value to mine. It is so important to look back to go forward. I’m proud of myself for the year I’ve had.

Here are my 6 big lessons from the last 12 months.

  1. We should experience more

  2. Self doubt can rock you, but it is also imperative for growth.

  3. You should always walk slower.

  4. Good Habits + Consistency = Progress (That progress never looks how you think it will)

  5. Reading is a gift, it is something to be cherished.

  6. When you look outwards at how you can help others, your world becomes better than ever.

Here is 3 questions I have been asking on The Virtus Podcast lately and I have been loving the answers. Give yourself some time to honestly answer them. If you feel like sharing. I’d love to hear your answers.

  1. What are you proud of?

  2. What are you most confident about?

  3. What are you excited for?

Be good.
