Change & Uncertainty

Very few things are guaranteed in this world, yet there are two constants. Uncertainty and change.

To be successful in almost any aspect of life you must be capable of accepting and dealing with both of these factors, alternatively, our inability to accept and overcome these constants can result in heightened anxiety and frustration.

That success we are all searching for in various ways can be all but guaranteed by focusing on the process, and purpose, rather than searching for short term results. I may sound like a broken record, but there is no way around it. The most effective way of manifesting the results you desire is to focus not on the outcome, but on the steps you must take to get there. Those steps must be built upon a strong foundation.

That strong foundation is built upon consistency, vulnerability, failure, learning, experience and hard work. All of the barely talked about attributes are the main reasons winners keep winning. That consistency we are looking for allows you to tip in day after day, whilst keeping an eye on the bigger picture.

"The standards you walk past are the standards you accept" // David Hurley.

Once your foundation is built, you must set your standards, and hold yourself to them. If you say you'll do something, do it. It's not fancy, or extravagant, it's simple. Simple shit that gets the job done.

Change is inevitable, we can agree on that. One of our most effective ways of dealing with change is observation. When we observe and respond, rather than ignore and react, we set ourselves up to deal with each situation as it comes, on its merits.

I firmly believe that our role as humans, as evolutionary hunters, is to adapt. To grow and transcend our current capacities.

It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change. // Charles Darwin

If you're resisting change, you're resisting success, happiness and all of the good stuff that comes with growth.
